New Neighbors

I’ve got two pair of new neighbors. One right next door. The other behind. The next door neighboors seem to be ok. The ones behind seem to be trying to slip a bannana up the ol’ tail pipe. On the off chance the fucktard had a bad day and was holdin’ his drink while hollerin’ at me about “He’s trying to relax”, I’m gonna try my damndest to give the idiot a “bye” on this one. But I swear… If he thinks for 1 gotdamned millesecond he’s gonna move in to our neighborhood and start changin’ my RedNeck way… this sumbitch has got another think comin.

I will get the most (addictive tune warning… after all, it was dedicated to Vman)vulgar David Allen Coe songs I can find, and I’ve got a plenty in stock, and proceed to sit on my back deck whilst listening to all of them on a loop at a volume level that would not be considered “loud” to law enforcement, but just “loud” enough to carry over to their house. And citislickers… if you clicked that link, that one was mild compared to what’s in “stock

I aint fuckin’ ’round. If he’s got a problem, which he obviously does, he ought to just come on over and state it. Don’t stand on your deck barkin’ like a moonbat about “I’m tryin’ to relax”, because you know… you just know… the first words outta my mouth are gonna be the same words when he starts bitchin’ about the music ‘cept I’m gonna add… this music is what I relax with…

All he had to do was come over mano-y-mano and have a cordial chat. About now, you don’t want to move in behind me. Especially if you’re him. I’ve got nothin’ but time on my hands now, and with that much time I’m sure to figure our ways to lawfully fuck with him.

Some people just don’t understand RedNecktiquette. Sorry Sumbitch indeed.

Goin’ Goin’

Gone. Our 2005 U14 Baseball season is over. The final record, as I have it to date, and I could be wrong, is 43 wins, 8 losses. The numbers, should I post them, would probably put most of you to sleep. However, when I start lookin’ at ‘em I must admit, I get a semi… And I ain’t talkin’ tractors here…

I don’t know what our longest winning streak was, game wise, or time wise, for that matter. I don’t know who was tops on HR’s, trips, doub’s, hits, avg, avg with runners in scorin’ position, sluggin’ percentage, etc… I will within the next month though. I plan to give that intel to the other coaches for their reading enjoyment.

It’s been a helluva ride. Seven months of effort by parents, kids, coaches, and grandparents. CitiSlickers… we travel well now.

We lost our last game. 8-7. We were the home team, down 8-2 bottom of the seventh. We only play seven innings. We got 5 back, with two outs, runners on, and our last batter of the game…went down lookin’. That hurt.

There are few things that can make my eyes water and my voice tremble when I speak, but the talk after that game, was one of ‘em. I had to look each of ‘em in they eye, and say without sayin’ it directly… “Got Damn, I’m proud as I can be of all of you, what a freakin’ ride, you lil’ dudes rock”.

The loss placed us somewhere between above 35th and below 25th in the nation, if I’m guessin’ right. I’ll take that. We could’ve gone farther, but wound up with a bad draw in the brackets. I’ll leave it at that. Anything further would sound like makin’ excuses, and I ain’t doin’ that.

If a ball team shows up to play, we’ll play ‘em. Period.

And we’ll win better then half of those kinds of games most of the time with this gang.

When/If I find a nifty little script that’ll show thumbnails that’ll open in new windows for images, I’ll put up some pics, cause I want to. I wish my memory was better then it is. As much as I bitched about the effort, and wanted this day to come, I hate to see it all go.

I brag on ‘Neckson a lot, but who among you that has chirren’, wouldn’t. For all that braggin’, he’s not the team, but he’s a part of it. There’s 10 other players that are just as much a part of it, not to mention parents, grandparents, and thats what makes a team. No prima donna’s here. Just ball players comin’ to work the last seven months. They earned, and deserved everyting they accomplished.

Pride

Today, we tuffed it out. Won our first game 9-8, against a team that had spanked everyone else in the pool of 5 teams that they’d played. Our next game was against the Ken Tenn Cubs. They were hella cool folks. We went extra innings with them to finally… win 9-8. It seems to be the score of the day.

All of that resulted in our being 6th seeded in a field of 35 teams. One of our team members had to wrap up his season today. I was sad to see him go. He is a Warrior. We have ten Warriors still to carry on with, but he will be missed.

‘Neckson hit a 3 run blast in the first inning of today’s second game. Methinks he’s gettin’ got his shit together.

It’s late, and there are still games goin’ on. Rain delay this mornin’ caused this, but thankfully we’re not playin’ untnil 1:00 PM tomorrow. Leave the lobby time tomorrow is 10:30. BP to follow, then it’s off to the game. We missed a bye because of 1 seeding position. It cost us a lot to get this far. A team we beat in the State Tourney in extra innings, wound up gettin’ the 5 seed which guaranteed them a bye tomorrow.

We were plannin’ to take in a Reds game tomorrow night, but if we win, I’m thinkin’ that idea is in the tank. This season has been our best ever. We’re sittin at 43-7. As far as or season goes, we can’t wind up with double digit losses. That is just flat out hella-cool.

Whatever happens, I’m as proud as I can be of these 11 young men that’ve been workin’ since January as teammates to achieve everything they have this year. In your life, you won’t find yourself on many if any teams like this group. I don’t care what sport.

Two down, some more to go.

After the first day of the Series, we’ve won two more ball games. Beat the Indiana Buzz, and then in the 90 somethin’ humid as hell 3 o’clock sun, we beat the Aurora Hawks(Illinois).

Tomorrow, we face the meat in the pool. It’s NOT what Vman would have you believe, should he ever discuss meat in the pool. It’s a couple teams that are pretty damned good. The Cincinnatti Sharks, and a team called KenTen(Kenytucky/Tennessee) I suppose. Because we’re 2-0 so far, we’re guaranteed to be playin’ on Saturday, but at least one win tomorrow, Lord willin’ and the creek don’t rise, 2 tomorrow, we’d surely be seeded sweetly in the single elimination tournament starting Saturday. We’re losin one of Aces, and our #2 batter who put one out this mornin to light a fire under our dead asses, Friday evenin’ for a family trip to Connecticut that’s been planned since before the season. It sucks, but it’s the right thing to do. We’ll just have to get by with whats left. Like my Uncle told me one time, after he fired my ass for playin’ pokertakin’ money like candy from a baby with my cousins at dinner time one day, “One monkey don’t stop no show’.

The “tot board” now sits at 41-7 on the year. No matter what happens throughout the next 3 days, barring a serious injury to any of the kids, it’s been a damned good year.

I hear there’s a group headin’ for Nawlins this weekend… Don’t burn it down you citislickers, I’d like to go back there some time.
