Walkin’ outside barefoot anyday. Everyday. Lookin’ out so as not to step on a sneaky snake, and tryin’ to avoid red ant hills… Sunburn. Gettin’ nekkid and jumpin’ in the swimmin’ hole even though momma told you not to. Bein’ a kid. Damn. Gettin’ busted for doin’ what momma told you not to. Where does it go? Sunday afternoon fried chicken. Early Saturday mornin’ cartoons. Hookin’ up with a buddy that’s got a kick ass BB Gun, with a scope on it, and shootin’ frogs that get spotted with the flashlight. Damn. Just Damn… Hate to rip you off Dax, but man, that’s a pretty common term for me lately…

Yeah… I think about that shit often. The days when I was invincible, and knew it, pushing my luck to the limit.
Then I had to go and ruin it by growin’ up. Some days it truly sucks…

Yes, it does. In my mind, I’m still invincible, but you know better, and so do I…

I was thinking about that very stuff last night. I sooo miss just being that innocent. What I wouldn’t give to not know now what I didn’t know then.
Well – that and bein’ able to run barefoot all year.

I know what you mean, Neckman. I miss those days, too. It was good talking with you yesterday. I hope you’ll be able to make it down here in April. The first one’s on me.

Yo, Neck,
Off topic, I know, but opening your site opens my Adobe reader (and then minimizes it.

Funnily enough, these ARE those days for me. There’s a lot to be said for being an adult, too.
